Manifesto — Document 00
You were programmed.
You were just never asked.
Every person alive is running code they did not write. The question was never whether a mind can be shaped. That was settled decades ago, in rooms with no windows, on people who never signed anything. The only question left is who holds the pen.
I. The record
In 1953, a program was approved to discover how far a human being could be altered — beliefs, memories, loyalties, behavior. It ran for two decades across 149 subprojects and more than eighty institutions. Universities. Hospitals. Prisons. The subjects were students, patients, inmates, and sometimes the researchers' own colleagues. Almost none of them knew.
In 1973 the files were ordered destroyed. What we know survives because someone misfiled the financial records. That is the size of the accident between total secrecy and partial truth.
The lesson the public drew was: this is horrifying. It was. But there was a second lesson underneath it that almost no one said out loud: it worked, at least partly, and the mechanisms are not exotic. Repetition. Environment. State. Cue. Reward. Isolation from contradicting input. These are not black magic. They are the ordinary physics of a nervous system.
II. The inversion
Those same mechanisms now run on you every day — by platforms optimizing for your attention, by advertisers optimizing for your wallet, by the accumulated defaults of your upbringing and your culture. None of them asked either. The operator is still behind the glass. The glass just got thinner and more profitable.
MYKULTRA is one idea taken seriously: what if the subject and the operator were the same person?
Not a metaphor. The literal architecture — audit, spec, install, verify — with every hidden variable made visible and every lever placed in the subject's own hand. The science is public. The methods are documented. The only new component is consent, and consent turns out to change everything.
III. The rules
- The subject is the operator. No coach, guru, or algorithm holds a control you cannot see. If someone else is running the program, it is not this program.
- Nothing runs unsigned. Every behavior target is written by you, in behavioral language, and signed before installation begins. Adjectives are not specs. "Confident" is not a target. "Speaks first in meetings" is.
- Every mechanism is explained. If you cannot state in plain language why a protocol works, you are not permitted to run it on yourself. Mystery is how the old programs kept control.
- Everything is reversible. Each protocol ships with its uninstall. A change you cannot undo is not a choice; it is a capture.
- The record belongs to the subject. Your baseline, your specs, your logs. Held by you, exported by you, deleted by you. We do not want them and we will not have them.
- No one is programmed against their will. Including by you. The protocols are for the self. Turning them on another person is the exact thing we exist to end.
IV. What this is not
This is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for it. This is not medicine. This is not a promise that the past can be undone or that any outcome is guaranteed. It is a set of tools, an operating discipline, and a single refusal: the refusal to keep running someone else's code while pretending it is your own nature.
The technology was never the secret. The access was. Access is now open. What you write with it is yours.
